Privacy Policy

Thinkboks, LLC (“Selfie,” “we,” “us”) provides the Selfie iOS application and the selfie-ai.com website and related services (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1) Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to:

  • the Selfie iOS app
  • selfie-ai.com and our related APIs/services

It does not apply to third-party websites, platforms, or services you may access through links or integrations.

2) Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: (a) you provide it, (b) we collect it automatically, and (c) we receive it from third parties you connect.

A. Information you provide

  • Account information: email address and account identifiers used for login/authentication.
  • Profile information: display name, handle, bio, profile image, intro message, settings (e.g., rules, preferences), and other details you choose to provide.
  • Messages and content: chat messages, conversation content, and other text you enter in the Services.
  • Uploads: files you upload (e.g., PDFs/text documents) and extracted text from them.
  • Voice features (optional): if you use voice features, your device may capture microphone input to produce a transcript; we process and store the resulting text you submit.

B. Information from third-party accounts

If you connect a third-party service (for example, Instagram), we may receive and store information you authorize, such as:

  • account identifiers (e.g., user ID, username/handle)
  • profile info (e.g., bio, profile image URL)
  • permitted content (e.g., captions and media URLs)

C. Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage information: app interactions, pages/screens viewed, feature usage, timestamps, and performance metrics.
  • Technical data: IP address, user agent/browser type, device/OS information, and diagnostic information.
  • Push notification tokens: if you enable notifications, we collect and store device tokens needed to send notifications.
  • Widget event data (if applicable): when your Selfie is used via shared links, we may collect event counts and referring/origin domain information for analytics and security.

3) How we use information

We use information to:

  • provide the Services, including account login, chat responses, and related functionality
  • operate and maintain the Services, including security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting
  • personalize your experience based on the settings and content you provide
  • communicate with you, including service-related notices and responding to support requests
  • comply with law and enforce our rights and agreements

4) How Selfie processes your data

Selfie uses OpenAI to help answer your questions and complete tasks. Before we send any of your data to OpenAI, we ask for your permission in the app and explain what data is sent.

Who receives the data: OpenAI, Inc. (openai.com). Their privacy policy applies to how they process data.

What we may send to OpenAI: your profile (display name, handle, bio, intro message), content you add (uploaded files, connected account data), and chat messages. We use this so OpenAI can generate helpful responses.

  • Do not submit sensitive information you do not want processed by OpenAI.
  • Responses may occasionally be inaccurate; you are responsible for how you use them.

5) How we share information

We may share information:

  • With OpenAI for processing (chat responses, task completion). We only send data to OpenAI after you grant permission in the app. See section 4 above for what data is sent.
  • With other service providers that help us run the Services (e.g., hosting, databases, authentication, storage, push notifications, analytics/diagnostics, payments).
  • With third-party platforms you connect (e.g., Instagram) in connection with that integration, subject to their policies.
  • For legal and safety reasons: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms, investigate abuse, and protect rights, property, and safety.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We do not sell personal information for money.

6) Data retention

We retain information as long as reasonably necessary to provide and operate the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and maintain security and prevent fraud/abuse.

If you request deletion, we will take reasonable steps to delete your information, subject to legitimate retention needs (for example, security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and backups).

7) Your choices

  • Account deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from within the Selfie app: open the account menu (person icon on the dashboard), then tap “Delete Account” and confirm. This removes your account, messages, and data. You may also contact us to request deletion (see “Contact us”).
  • Access / correction: You may request access to or correction of your personal information by contacting us (see “Contact us”).
  • Push notifications: You can disable notifications in iOS settings.
  • Permissions: You can manage camera/microphone/speech permissions in iOS settings; some features may not work without them.

8) Security

We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9) Children and eligibility

The Services are intended for adults 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

10) International users

If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate.

11) Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Services after changes means you accept the updated policy.
